Cape Town was founded by the Dutch East India Company in 1652 as one of the first European settlements in South Africa - a fact, to which the city owes its nickname "Mother City". The most famous attractions include Table Mountain and Cape of Good Hope which is situated about 45 kilometers to the south. Today, Cape Town is the seat of the South African parliament and the economic and industrial center of the country.

Cape of Good Hope
The Cape peninsula is characterized by rocky landscapes and a unique wildlife. Due to the offshore cliffs, the Cape was once considered to be one of the most dangerous regions for navigators.

Table Mountain
Table Mountain offers a fantastic view of the city, the coast and the impressive rock formations. You can reach the top by cable car or by using one of the numerous hiking paths.

The historic wharf and port area is home to a number of entertainment venues, restaurants and shopping facilities and counts among the most popular tourist attractions of South Africa.
